Tropical Hockey was founded in 2023 by Sam Williams and Brette Simpson. As a family that spends most nights and weekends at the rink, we know how much time, money, and commitment hockey costs a family. Our goal is to bring quality products for the ice and field to your homes at an affordable price. You may wonder how we got here, why Tropical Hockey, what is Tiki Tape? It all started when Sam's youngest was taping his stick for the 3rd time in a day. Brette watched him wrapping his 1 inch grip tape round and around the stick and thought "there has to be a better way." From then on it became Brette's mission to find the better way, ultimately landing on 4 inch grip tape. If we can provide a wider roll of tape for the same price as the small rolls, why wouldn't we take the dive? Tropical Hockey mixes our yearlong hockey lifestyle with our longing to be sitting on the beach with a drink in our hand. We hope that we can bring a piece of the beach to your rink, just like we have to ours.
